This set is utterly fabulous! A bright mod print is done in shades of corals and pinks with pops of raspberries on this stunning silk jersey and silk chiffon set. The La Mendola label is highly collectible and sought after - when the duo behind the label where designing in Rome it was girls like Elizabeth Taylor and Rita Hayworth that were buying! The Italian shop closed in 1974 so this would date prior to that.

The base piece is a stretch silk jersey jumpsuit that has wide legs and a simple cut. Over this is a silk chiffon tabard overlay made of a custom screened matching fabric. It is cut almost apron like with an opening down each side and it just snaps into place along the top of one shoulder and under the arm. Incredibly this st also has its original huge silk shawl or wrap that is light enough to use as a sash as shown. It also has a matching silk chiffon turban! No label but the fabric is signed through out.It is an amazing piece and in excellent condition with no flaws to note.
